Can I choose the thread colour?
No. Threads are selected from the naturally hand-dyed colours available in the studio at the time of repair. This allows each repair to respond to both the textile and the materials.
Why do the thread colours vary?
Each thread is dyed by hand using natural dyes. Slight variations in colour, tone, and saturation are a natural part of the dyeing process. These variations are embraced as part of the character of each repair, making every commission unique.
Will the colours fade over time?
Yes. Because the threads are dyed using natural materials, gradual softening and fading of colour is expected over time. This is considered part of the repair rather than a defect.
Can you make the repair invisible?
No. Hibi to Nuno celebrates repair rather than concealing it. The stitching remains visible as part of the textile's continuing story.
What kinds of textiles can you repair?
I can repair a wide range of textiles, including clothing, household linens, scarves, bags, and accessories made from both natural and synthetic fibres.
If you are unsure whether your textile is suitable for repair, please get in touch before submitting your request.
Can you repair knitwear?
Some knitted textiles can be repaired depending on their construction and condition. Please enquire before sending your item.
Do I need to wash my textile before sending it?
Yes, please send your textile in a clean and dry condition. This helps ensure the best possible repair and protects the natural materials used during the process.
