Holes, wear, and frayed edges are traces of the time an object has been used.

Rather than hiding these marks and returning the object to its original state, I mend in response to them, using hand stitching and naturally dyed threads.

Following each hole, worn area, and the colour and texture of the fabric, new lines, colours, and forms emerge through the process of mending.

I see mending not as a way of erasing the past, but as a way of working with what is already there, allowing an object to continue being used and to change over time.
